general advice

The best way to deal with difficult people is to keep calm and try to diffuse the situation. Be assertive and try and reason with them. Do not take insults personally but on the other hand do not allow yourself to be abused.

Be as polite as possible and talk to them in a positive way. If it is someone who you work with do not allow yourself to be bullied, but do not ignore the situation either.

There are many types of difficult people and diplomacy can go a long way in many cases.
